Remember The Fifth of November ?

It has been a long time since I entered into this blog. The meaninglessness theme will remain . But due to lack of any real feed back and shortage of time I have decided to make entries even shorter and hopefully 'sweeter'.

Yesterday was 'Guy Fawkes night' hardly ever spoken of now in official circles or in the popular press. The fire works still go off but for what celebration or anniversary few people seem to know or care about .

Guy was a catholic who attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in the 17th century . I just read recently that some have joked that 'Guy Fawkes was the only man to enter the house of commons with honourable intentions '.

Well I can't help agreeing partly with that . Guy Fawkes never succeeded and was caught together with his fellows all of whom had a horrific session of torture followed by a grisly death .

The main inspiration for the plot was one of rebellion against the persecution of catholics by the regime of the time. Seems always to be the case that protestants or catholics have been -persecuting eachother .Who ever had the most power would treat the other badly.Shame on them both Christians! So glad I'm not taken in by all their rubbish , Maybe one reason for low profile of this celebration could be its offence to the catholics . No more effigies seen of Guy being burnt in the streets of London . Having been resurrected for burning every year for so many hundreds of years it is time he earnt a rest, he has more than paid for his crime

Well there are some in the houses of parliament who could do with a little Guy Fawkes remedy , those war mongers would be blessed if they got a suicide hug from a modern day discontented citizen . But Justice does not always show her self .
Rest in peace Guy .
